ART THAT WILL DEFINE

THE ART OF THE 21st CENTURY

This is the century, we're told, when our very existence will be threatened.

When the survival of our species will be at risk.

When our planet may no longer be able to feed and clothe us.

When hurricanes and tornadoes will destroy our cities faster than we can rebuild them.

When climate change and scarcity will turn our lives upside down, if the Earth is habitable at all.

Art that addresses the social and political issues of Our Time will be the Art of the 21st Century. Its importance will be measured by its contribution to our governance, our freedom…and our survival.

Below, you will find more than 100 works of political art ranging in price from $125 to $10,000. We are confident that each, in its own way, will influence the history of 21st Century art because of its impact and its provenance.

Only artists whose work was shown in one of THE CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY POLITICAL ART’s first four exhibitions were invited to offer their work for sale in The Art Sale.

The value of these works will increase because they were exhibited in the Center’s first year—-when interest in American political art was in its infancy.

Acquiring art from this Sale will encourage American artists to continue creating art which addresses our most pressing, and often most contentious, social and political issues.

If their work is curated and exhibited for maximum impact, it will help inspire change for the benefit of all of us. If not, it will bear witness to our failure to grasp the consequences of our inaction and illusions.

Acquiring art from this Sale will also help fund the only arts institution in the United States that curates exhibitions of contemporary political art for the express purpose of supporting good governance, rule of law and a more just and equal Society for the common good of all Americans.

HOW THE SALE WORKS:

The ASKING PRICE for each work was set by the artist and is listed below its image.

A tax-deductible BUYER'S PREMIUM of 33.3% will be added to the ASKING PRICE to determine THE FINAL PRICE. The Buyer’s Premium is your donation to fund CCPArt for the coming year.

For example, if the ASKING PRICE is $600, the BUYER’S PREMIUM is $200. The FINAL PRICE will therefore be $800.

The buyer will be asked to send two checks: one endorsed to the artist equal to the ASKING PRICE; the second to THE CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY POLITICAL ART equal to the BUYER’S PREMIUM. Once the checks are received, the artist will ship or personally deliver the work to the buyer free of additional charge.

THE CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY POLITICAL ART IS A 501-(c)-(3) nonprofit corporation.
